Youth Hunter Education Clinic (YHEC)
NRA is announcing a recruitment effort for clubs to put on a Youth Hunter Education Clinic (YHEC). See the following for information on the YHEC program and how to get your club involved.
My name is Eddie and I am the Program Coordinator for NRA's Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC). YHEC is a nationwide hunter education program that was created in 1985 to get more kids interested in hunting and to provide them with a safe environment to develop and improve upon marksmanship, hunting, outdoor and safety skills. YHEC events are held all over the country for one or two days as kids 18 and under compete in up to eight shooting and responsibility events under simulated hunting situations. There is ZERO cost to the NRA to host a YHEC and we provide you with marketing and logistic support as well as event materials such as animal paper targets, t-shirts, Hunter's Guides, bags, scorebooks and more for free. Grants are available through the NRA to help with funding and if you qualify as the official state YHEC event, the NRA will give you $10 for every participant.
